The C16th village of Otford lies on the northern edge of the Weald, and has the River Darent flowing through it.  Its rural location ensures Otford has clean air and explains why Kings College London found TN14 (the Otford postcode) to have the best atmosphere of anywhere lying within the M25 (The Times, 17thSeptember, Pollution hotspots website could drive down London house prices). But Otford is not isolated, being just 4 miles from Sevenoaks town centre, with its wide range of shops, supermarkets, Stag Theatre and social facilities.

The village itself has a variety of small shops, historic houses (particularly Archbishop’s Palace), the C16th church of St. Bartholomew, two pubs, a café and a restaurant, together with Otford Medical Practice, the Village Memorial Hall, Otford Heritage Centre, library and recreation ground.

A feature of the village is a very picturesque spring-filled pond which is the location of the smallest listed duck pond in England.

The village is very well served with schools, having three nursery schools, a primary school and two private prep schools - St. Michael's school which takes children from age 2 to 13, and Russell House School.

Otford has a mainline rail service with frequent services to Victoria. Sevenoaks mainline station is one stop away and provides frequent services to London Bridge/ Charing Cross.  There is easy access to the M25 and the south coast (Brighton 1 hr. 15 mins.) and east coast (Margate 1 hr. 30 mins.) are comfortable drives from the village.
